Jill Thomson's art evokes a personal history of a small town prairie childhood, an urban Montreal young adulthood and a settled life as an artist, mother and grandmother in Edmonton.  Her rich colourful palette and complex compositions celebrate a creative life in cities with urban farms and gardens, bicycle paths, local businesses and ravines and  generous front porches, cafes, bookstores, bicycle paths, gardens and green space.
